What do I need to do to work as a court reporter in Utah?
All reporters, freelance and officials, need to be certified to work in Utah. The laws and rules which govern this profession do not require licensure as a notary public. - download opinion letter.
To apply for a license through the Department of Professional Licensing, go to their website at www.dopl.utah.gov. Click on "Apply for a License," then select "Court Reporting" as the occupation or profession. Under applications and forms, double click on the correct form.
